Sessions

Peter Matuchniak has appeared as a guest guitarist on several projects with artists such as Marco Ragni, Shawn Gordon, Steve Bonino, Hamlet Tinae, and Simon Stevens. A collection of these sessions was reworked and released as a solo project, and these provide an interesting alternative outlet to his solo and band projects.

Mach One

A London based rock band from the 1980's featuring founders and brothers Tim (keys) & Geoff Sprackling (lead guitar), along with key members Simon Strevens (drums) & Peter Matuchniak (Rhythm Guitar) from Janysium. Joined by the talents of Jon Bankes (bass) & Steve Bauer (vocals), the sixtuplet caught the attention of Keith Goodwin (publicist for Yes, Marillion, etc.) and were often associated with the New Wave of British Progressive Rock revival, often performing at the same venues as, and sometimes with, the likes of IQ, La Host, Pendragon, Twelfth Night, etc. Featuring keyboards and melodic guitar interplay, with powerful vocals and rhythmic interplay their music combined instrumental craftsmanship and compositional development, reflecting influences from traditional British rock acts from the 1970's.

Janysium

A melodic progressive rock project formed by two 15-year olds Simon Strevens and Peter Matuchniak, and joined by Martin Polley (bass) and the talented Sean Lewis on piano & keyboards. Before turning 17 they recorded their first demo in 1982, which gained traction with the official Genesis Information Fan Club and later given a nod of approval from Phil Collins following a chance meeting with Phil's mum at a Genesis concert. Characterized by long instrumental passages and with a sound inspired by the melodic progressive music of the day by Genesis, Camel, Mike Oldfield, etc. They joined forces with Mach One later in 1982, although Simon & Peter continued to compose and record separately, often with a more contemporary pop style as well as writing jingles in India for TV ads in Mumbai in 1987.

Solo

The most personal expression in Peter's catalog. Solo work strips away the collaborative layer to reveal the pure artistic vision — intimate, unfiltered, and deeply personal. From solo guitar explorations to fully produced singer-songwriter pieces, this is Peter Matuchniak at his most unguarded.
